Taylor McCloud — Pats Militia
I could barely sleep last night. I was too excited. The second the clock struck midnight, I felt something change. Football season is here. The Patriots are here.

Seven months and two days ago, the Patriots pulled off the impossible. They scored thirty-one points in twenty-four minutes to knock the Atlanta Falcons from whatever perch they sat on. It was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.
Unfortunately, it’s history.
From this point on, the comeback, along with Super Bowl LI as a whole, is meaningless. Not in the grand scheme of things, but for now. For now, nothing matters except for what’s to come, and everything begins tonight. The #BlitzForSix, the title defense, everything. Once that celebration ends, and that first football is kicked into the Foxborough sky, a new book will open. And it’s up to the 2017 New England Patriots to decide what will cover those pages.
Everyone will be gunning for them. They’ve won two championships in the past three years. No one wants to see them win another. Luckily, the Patriots don’t much care about the wants of others. They care about what they want, and what they want is to win. Lombardi VI is priority #1.
The path to Super Bowl LII is clear and this team is built to bring it home. Brady and Belichick have everything figured out. The roster is the best it’s ever been. 19-0 is a legitimate possibility. But like always, it’ll come down to execution. Tonight against Kansas City, next week against New Orleans, in the following weeks against whoever, the Patriots need to execute.
Although, that shouldn’t be news. Execution always reigns supreme, and so do the Patriots.
Welcome to 2017.
P.S. If you’re still waiting for the football bug to bite you, I think I have something that can help. Whenever I need to get amped up, especially for the Pats, I look to this video. TB posted it in 2015, so it’s old, but trust me, it’ll get the job done.
