Taylor McCloud — Pats Militia
I love this commercial.
Is it as funny as the Tom Brady Footlocker one? No. But is it hilarious regardless? Yes.
It’s definitely because I’m a degenerate football fan, but I experienced an absurd amount of joy from watching Malcolm Butler blanket Antonio Brown through city streets. From the opening scenes running through the hotel to Butler slapping the keys into the storm drain, I had an ear-to-ear grin. Only part I didn’t love was AB pulling one over at the end, but hey, he had to get his at some point.
Plus, the fact that Butler is featured in an ad like this, alongside one of the best receivers in the game, means that he’s finally getting the respect he deserves. Yes, he made the play to save Super Bowl XLIX, but that was two years ago. He’s in this commercial because he’s been playing well enough to be acknowledged as one of the league’s best corners, as well as a recognizable face in the NFL.
Odell Beckham Jr. posted this picture of AB and Butler a couple of weeks ago.
Seems insignificant, but this is not even close to the first photo OBJ has posted of a Patriots player, just strengthening my theory…
bold prediction: odell beckham jr. joins the patriots after the 2017 season
