Patriots Fans: Here’s What You Should Be Doing This Weekend

Taylor McCloud — Pats Militia

I’ve often said that this is the worst weekend in sports. We’ve been through three weekends of playoff football, the Super Bowl is next week, and we’re just stuck in the middle. Now, obviously there’s some other stuff you could do. You could go on a weekend getaway, you could drown yourself in college basketball, you could watch the Pro Bowl. Or, you could not. Why? Because,

All of that stuff kinda sucks. Weekend getaways are cool, but I’d rather see a beautifully executed wheel route that puts a team up 10 with 2:34 left in the fourth. College hoops are nice, but instead of watching some lame pick and roll, I want to see a linebacker decleat some sorry receiver who thought’d it be a good idea to come across the middle. (Right here’s the part where I should have said something nice about the Pro Bowl, and then compared it to a better football play, but I refuse to say anything nice about that game. It’s the worst. I know it, you know it, we all know it.)

So, if you’re like me, and all you want to do is watch Patriots’ football, here you go.

(I apologize for some Super Bowls/America’s Game episodes not being here. The NFL runs a very tight ship, and are quick to remove all NFL-related content from the internet. If you have links to the missing videos, tweet them to me @tdmcld. Thanks.)

First, lead off with the Super Bowls.

Here’s XXXVI:

(XXXVIII is missing)

And XLIX, with both halves of mic’d up highlights included:

If you’re not into watching complete games, though, NFL Network’s America’s Game series is incredible and recaps whole championship seasons. Unfortunately, the episodes from 2001, and 2003 are missing, so they will not be included, but here is 2004:

For 2014, I don’t have a live video, but if you click here, you’ll be redirected to where you can watch the entire episode.

But, that’s not even the best video from 2014. That season featured a magical playoff run. First, there were two fourteen point comebacks against the Baltimore Ravens. Then, there was the absolute trouncing of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game. Finally, there was the Super Bowl, which ended with Malcolm Butler intercepting Russell Wilson in what is the most famous SB play off all time. And, luckily for you, all of that was put into one documentary — Do Your Job. (This one will give you chills.)

If you want to dive further into the mind of Bill Belichick, here are both parts of his episode of A Football Life:

The episode featuring the 1995 Cleveland Browns, another team constructed by BB.

And, nine years worth of soundbites from the hooded one himself:

However, if you’re not super into Belichick (you should be), and want to concentrate on Tom Brady only, here you go.

And, if you’re interested in knowing a little bit more about a couple of Tom Brady’s teammates, here you go:

I know there’s a ton of video here, and even the most devout Pats fan will probably have to take a break at some point during it, but this weekend will be a long one. There’s no Tom Brady, there’s no Julian Edelman, there’s no anybody. All we’ve got to do is sit around, and wait. So, sift through these videos, watch what you want to, skip what you don’t, and get ready for a week full of Super Bowl festivities.

Go Pats.

P.S. If you’re a crazy person, and all of this wasn’t enough for you, the Pats post sights & sounds from every game here. I look forward to those every week, and they never disappoint.
