And there they are, tonight’s inactives. No huge surprises, though.
The always-inactive LaAdrian Waddle, will be just that, inactive.
Likewise, defenders Woodrow Hamilton and Kyle Van Noy will not play.
Matt Lengel, a newcomer signed off of Cincy’s practice squad on November 2nd, will be sidelined as well.
I said there were no huge surprises, but Eric Rowe sitting out is curious. Despite being burned a couple of times in the Buffalo game two weeks ago, I thought he got the raw end of the deal on a couple of calls. But I guess Bill Belichick thought differently and sat him. As a result, second-round pick, Cyrus Jones, has broken out of the doghouse and will be active.
Running back D.J. Foster is inactive, but another running back, Dion Lewis, is obviously more important.
After being placed on the PUP list at the end of the offseason, Lewis was activated last week and has been present at practice for the last couple of weeks. However, because of the production of James White, there’s no real rush to bring Lewis back onto the field. The Patriots will want him at full, 100% health, before he comes back.
One notable active is Chris Hogan. After dealing with some back tightness towards the end of the week, it looks like he’s figured it out and will be out there.
Michael Bennett, a Seahawk Tom Brady has heaped praise on as one of the best defenders in football, is still recovering from surgery and will be inactive; a huge relief for the Patriots’ offensive line.
