Taylor McCloud — Pats Militia
It’s Week 2 and while the Patriots are playing, seven of their players are not.

Normally the inactive list is full of guys whose names aren’t exactly notable. Unfortunately, this week’s list isn’t normal and the Patriots will be missing quite a few notable guys.
If you’ve been paying attention at all this week, you know that Dont’a Hightower and Danny Amendola missed the entire week of practice. And because you’ve been paying attention all week, you know that guys who don’t practice all week don’t play in the game on Sunday. Seeing their names on this list isn’t a surprise.
Matthew Slater and Vincent Valentine aren’t surprising, either. Like Hightower and ‘Dola, Slater and Valentine were held out of all three practices this week. Consequently, they won’t be playing in the game today.
Not having Slater out there on special teams certainly hurts the Patriots, but not having Nate Ebner out there either will hurt even more. These two are two of the best special teams players in the NFL and we all know that Coach Belichick values special teams just as much as offense or defense. The Pats got by without Slater and Ebner last week, and they’ll have to do it again this week.
They’ll have to get by without Cole Croston and LaAdrian Waddle, too. Both offensive linemen are inactive today.
