It’s the fourth game of the season and these guys aren’t playing.
Jonathan Cooper isn’t playing. Eric Rowe isn’t playing. LaAdrian Waddle isn’t playing. Are you surprised? No.
D.J. Foster, Elandon Roberts, and Greg Scruggs will not be playing either.
Notably inactive is Jimmy Garoppolo, though. After some speculation he’d be able to go today, he did not display enough strength in his shoulder during pregame warmups for the Patriots’ medical staff to clear him. As a result, he won’t be out there.
But despite all the inactives, the most important one is the one that’s not on the list; Dont’a Hightower. After reading from multiple sources that Hightower was dealing with a sprained/partially torn meniscus, I was under the assumption he’d be out for a couple more weeks at minimum. I guess not. He’s active and hopefully will be on the field today.
(P.S. AJ Derby, a former collegiate quarterback will be active today. Look to see him in the mix for emergency quarterback as well as Julian Edelman.)
