REPORT: Garoppolo Out For Thursday & Beyond

From the second he went down, we all had a pretty good idea as to what the verdict on Jimmy Garoppolo would be.

Now our suspicions have been confirmed.

Garoppolo won’t be playing Thursday, and in all likeliness, won’t be playing in Week 4 either.

With the way Jimmy G. had played against Arizona, and in the first quarter and-a-half against Miami, going 4-0 in his four starts seemed inevitable. He was giving us a glimpse of what could possibly be the future of the New England Patriots. Now that’s done.

Obviously it isn’t the end of the world; Tom Brady will be back in three weeks and the Pats will have their starter.

Until then, though, we’ve got Jacoby Brissett. He played well today. Despite not necessarily having the upside of Garoppolo, he’s surrounded by great talent and has confidence in his ability. So should we. The Pats used a third-rounder on him. They liked something. That’s enough for me to believe in him.

Go Pats.

UPDATE: According to multiple sources, Garoppolo’s injury is not as bad as initially thought. Although he’s still not expected to play Thursday, his status for Week 4 against Buffalo has improved.
